Danfoss Ally thermostat can't turn off, and can't be regulated in an automation

I’ve added my Danfoss Ally eTRV0100 through ZHA (Sonoff 3 dongle) on my Raspberry Pi 3, and I’m having a few problems:

  1. I can’t turn it off. Using the classic thermostat card, I can click “Off” all I want, but it never switches away from “Heat”.
  2. I can’t seem to change the thermostat setting in an automation. If I create an automation, I have two actions to choose from: a. “Change HVAC mode on Danfoss eTRV0100 Thermostat” (which doesn’t work, as described above); b. “Press Danfoss eTRV0100 Identifybutton button”. What if I want to change the setpoint to e.g. 17 degrees, because the house is empty?
  1. That’s just the way the Danfoss Thermostats are made. They can’t be turned off, only down.
  2. The way to change a thermostat’s setting is by choosing the not-so-obvious “Call service”, and then select the service called “Climate: Set temperature”.
