I had working configuration for Dark Sky, Arlo, Ring, etc, which were running under Hassio on a Debian / Docker VM. I recently migrated to an Ubuntu VM, and started fresh, copying my automations, config, groups, sensors, zones, etc. My Hue and ZHA are working, but I can’t get Arlo or Ring to start, and my Dark Sky and Weather Underground fail as well. So here is my question: could there be a Linux package that is missing from this VM to cause problems with all of these? As I said, they did work with the same config under a different VM. The log has the following errors:
2018-10-16 20:06:07 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Unable to prepare setup for platform sensor.ring: Could not set up all dependencies.
2018-10-16 20:06:07 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Unable to set up dependencies of sensor.arlo. Setup failed for dependencies: arlo
2018-10-16 20:06:07 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Unable to prepare setup for platform sensor.arlo: Could not set up all dependencies.
2018-10-16 20:06:07 ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.setup] Unable to set up dependencies of camera.arlo. Setup failed for dependencies: arlo
Thanks for any help!
I am running into the same errors. I think that it has something to do with the ip address or the bridge of the network card. I found this other thread that mentions a similar issue. I would really like to figure this out since Nest and other components are not working as well.
Its really strange. I used the same config files from my Debian install, but it just wont work. I’m not sure if its due to a different version of hassio, but I’m going to boot the other VM and check.
I have been having this problem for a few versions now, I don’t think that is it. I have mine setup a few different ways, the first was Ubuntu Server with HASS.IO installed only, the second was an Unraid VM of the HASS.IO image. I get the same results in both logs, errors with random outside components, including Nest, Dark Sky, MyQ, Ring and others.
That’s interesting. I haven’t had a chance to boot the other VM, as I went back to my working Debian / Hassio VM for now. My main problem, which i can’t seem to figure out or find an answer to, is the Arlo component. I can run my system with Ring, Dark Sky, ZHA, etc., for days with no problems. As soon as I enable the Arlo component, ZHA stops working. I have been told its a ZHA problem, but ZHA works great, and plays well with everything except Arlo. I keep testing to try to find the problem. Thank goodness for VM snapshots!
