Long shot but can you try refreshing your browser cache and the iOS cache of the companion app (settings> companion app> debugging> reset frontend cache)? I’ve seen this fix weirder things.
This may just be my lack of recent experience with iOS, but what is the “<” tab on the righthand side of the screen?
Same behavior on multiple iphones, Android tablet & a laptop (macos) 
From the screenshots in the original post, it looks as if he is designing these dashboards in landscape but viewing them in portrait. They’re bound to be different. Could the OP confirm that when he says “refreshed” he isn’t just turning his phone round.
They’re watching a video, it’s the the Picture in Picture slide over.
