Is there a way that you can duplicate an entire view to a new dashboard. Let me explain, I have a view called “Overview” I thin it was automatically created at HA install. I have been using that view to edit a lot and it’s now what I’m showing on my 3 wall tablets. I’m 75% happy with it (other than card location) but I would like to continue to tweak it but tweaking the “Overview” view messes with the tablets too. So I would like to duplicate my “Overview” view to a new one and tweak away without messing up the tablets.
- Create a new dashboard
- By default that dashboard will be an auto-generated dashboard like the overview initially is
- Take control of the dashboard and when you do so, select the start with an empty dashboard option
- Go to your current dahsboard you’ve been working on and edit the dashboard
- once in edit mode, select the triple dot menu and select raw configuration editor
- select all the code and copy it
- close out the editing session
- go to the new dashboard, and follow the same steps to get to the raw configuration editor
- paste the code you copied previously

Holy crap, super simple, thanks so much. I wish these kind of important feature were not so hidden.

OK well I must be stupid, I have followed those step 5 times in a row and when I get to the final paste item there is nothing at all. Crazy indeed yet the original dashboard is still just fine.
It should work, I’ve used the above method several times while testing out new dashboard layouts without making my wife annoyed
WOW for some reason the MAC keyboard strokes for cut and paste do not work in that editor but using right click in both places does work, many thanks works great, I now have a new play ground
