Hi there. After updating the HA to core-2024.10.1 / OS13.1 (from around 2024.4.x) I spotted that the whole dashboard reloads whenever a new entity shows up (or disappears) from the conditional card, before the update that didn’t happen. It is a bit annoying as the full screen flashes all the time whenever that happens, also cameras have to load the stream again, etc.
Has anyone else spotted this? I looked through the issues but could not find related.
I have that too when an entity does not exist in the moment.
The card will update all the time.
I run lovelace_gen and I do not know if that is the cause or it is standard Lovelace.
For me it was just to either remove the card or fix the entity, so I did not look further into it.
I see, from the lack of similar reports and responses, that the problem does not seem global.
I decided to record a screengrab for a better presentation of the issue and to prove how annoying this can be. Screengrab of HA dashboard
As of the 12/06/2025 Core Update , this seems to have gotten FAR worse, I now have flickering on the custom:uptime-card, as if it’s having a seizure. It does seem to settle down after a while, but if I go to another dashboard with the same uptime-card on it, the process starts all over again.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not just this card, it’s the entire dashboard that goes into convulsions, I just notice it more prominently on the uptime-card. I also am now getting blank gauges when switching from one dashboard to another, and I have to manually refresh the browser a few times to get all the gauges to show their contents.
Have been noticing this for a while now already, and every core update just seems to exasperate the issue more and more.
If memory serves, the first card that I noticed it on was the history graphs for the solar that seemed like they were re-rendering from scratch every time the graph came back into view on the dashboard \0/
