Dashboard: Sonos card

That’s me! I have made some comments on your PR

Please elaborate

I mean to have the option to search between artists, playlists or albums just like the way the app does…

I agree!

I know that’s a tall ask but that’s the only thing I see that the sonos app has over this card. I can hit search and search across all my music platforms and play in sonos.

I mean, it MUST be possible in some capacity because if you tell Alexa to find music on “x” service she obliges each time. So there must be a way to pass the communication through.

On the card, I must use my favorites (which has been fine and I planned to add more) but being able to simply search for a song would be a dream.

Search is not supported in the backend home assistant so no idea how that could be solved.

For media browser, make sure to add Spotify integration for instance, then you will have a lot more to choose from on top of favourites.

Would it be possible to add an image to favorite buttons that have no image similar to “thumbnail” for “customSources”?

Also, is it possible to remove the media title/artist from the media player entity button, because it’s already displayed in the player on top?

Hello,

If you have 9 players and they’re all playing different things, how do you tell what is playing on each if this information isn’t with the room name?

By looking at the player, just a request.

I know its just a request. I’m trying to understand the outcome and the unintended side effects.

To learn what is playing in each room, one would need to click on each room one at a time to see that in the player if the song information is absent from the room listings. Is that what the suggested outcome is?

For me, yes, not sure if it would be desirable for all.

So then yes in that case, a way for the user to select whether or not to display the song information with the room could be appropriate.

A “display song information: true” if you will

That would be ideal.

I know I’m probably pushing the limits, but What about adding images to favorites that have no media artwork?

I can’t answer that one. We’ll have to wait for Phil. He will probably be able to provide a feasibility answer quickly. He’ll likely give us a response on the “display song info: true” setting we just discussed.

Awesome, thanks.

Ok, but problem is that Spotify integration works with Sonos only if you have a Premium account…

You don’t need to define entities. I have regex working fine without declaring any entities. I even have space in the end of the regex.

entityNameRegexToReplace: 'Blåa '
entityNameReplacement: ''

Here is a beta for the the “missing thumbnail” feature:

See readme on how to use it (customThumbnailIfMissing).
Let me know how it works!
