I use the latest version of Home Assistant OS on a Raspberry Pi 5, in the SD card slot of which I have a 64GB card that I previously used as my data disk.
Some while ago however it told me that the card was running low on storage capacity so I got a 256GB card, a USB-A to Micro-SD adapter, plugged it in a USB slot in my Pi and moved the data disk to the new SD card.
Fast forward to now and after a system reboot Home Assistant wouldn’t boot up. I tried to insert the 256GB SD into my laptop when I realized the adapter wasn’t functioning anymore. I just ordered a new one and my questions are:
How do I tell Home Assistant to use the new adapter and the SD in it as data disk? Will it recognize it automatically? Do I have to change any files on the Main SD card? If I install Home Assistant freshly on the Main SD card and then use the 256GB one as data disk will I have all my data or is some lost?
Thank you in advance for your responses!
