I’ve been thinking about my Lovelace UI for a while… and I decided to re-do my UI. I spent a lot of time learning how things actually work.
I decided to share my project even though it is not in a completed state. The only reason for this is to maybe inspire others with their project as I’ve been inspired by a lot by many, many of individuals here in this forum.
Again, nothing big, not even completed, but still worth sharing just in case it helps someone.
I think that the most helpful documentation is done just the way you describe: After you’ve been through it once, start over from scratch and document every step.
Too much documentation here seems to be written by folks who are so familiar with HA that they skip over all the basic steps which are second nature to them. I’m not complaining; I’ve done the same thing. It’s hard to remember what it’s like for a beginner after a while.
Anyway, thanks! And I hope others follow your lead!
I’ll indeed document my “new start” because yeah, I tend to forget how I have done some stuff at the very beginning of when I’ve started my HA journey.
That is exacly the reason why I’ve decided to share the undone project… it is basic enough for being looked at from a beginners perspective and advance enough to have the feeling of having customized something… even though it is not heavily customized. It deals with CSS styling, custom components, GIMP and a lot of things that might be helpful.
But hey, I know this project isn’t a big deal and it not even done yet (and will never be as I’m starting from scratch another one)… it is much more a way to help others like I’ve been helped each and every time I had questions.
