deCONZ CLIP sensors - what are they?

Hi, just a quick question from a newbie.

In the deCONZ options there is a box for “Allow deCONZ CLIP sensors” I’ve had a little look around and can’t figure out what a CLIP sensor is and if I should check the box or not.

Anyone able to point me in the right direction please?

They are virtual sensors. They can be created by automation apps like Hue Essentials, or manually through deCONZ REST API. A bit like template sensors in HA. They can be used to keep state, for instance for a wakeup light scene or in combination with presence sensors. I think the concept and term was introduced in Philips Hue.
