Deferred probe pending

Hi,

This is the first time I try to use Home Assistant. I have made the “GENERIC X86-64” setup as described on URL: Generic x86-64 - Home Assistant
There it is written “Power the system on. If you have a screen connected to the Generic x86-64 system, after a minute or so the Home Assistant welcome banner will appear in the console”, but that did not happen.

The boot got stuck at the message “platform 80860F14 : 02 : deferred probe pending”.

In my router I can see that the lease of the IP-address for this MAC (68-1D-EF-14-9E-25) has not been renewed and the device is marked as “switched OFF”. Of course, I can neither access the web-address http://192.168.1.13:8123

What should I do in case the boot is stuck at “deferred probe pending”?

Thanks and greetings,
Jan van Hemert

Two weeks have passed without any reaction in this forum.
I understand that nobody in this forum cares that the image “GENERIC X86-64” does not boot.
Instead of using this image, I have created an ubuntu-server with docker.
Let’s close this case on [Deferred probe pending] as too much time has elapsed.

I suspect - and for the benefit of future Googlers - that the boot device you were using was either not recognised or not supported. Having seen this today if you leave long enough you’ll likely get the “gave up waiting for root file system device” which in my case was because I was trying to boot from an nvme drive but could equally be a dodgy sd card.
