Detect when Assist is active, auto-close on finish?

I’m really happy with, although being experimental, Assist for Android and wake word detection.

Because voice control is being used here daily with a VPE and Atom 5 Echo, I would like the walltablet to behave similarly: when wake word is detected: give feedback with sound.
Also, it would be nice if Assist can be closed after being active so that you can activate it again without needing to close or touch to listen again.

I have searched but could not find a way to achieve this: is this not possible (yet)?

I hope this will evolve into being all possible with the companion app.

For now, my workaround is to use another project which, after just having installed it half an hour ago, ticks all the boxes: Ava: An Android Voice Assistant using the ESPHome protocol
