Determining if ESP Home is the one

Hi, I’m attempting to set up some sensors (currently a SEN65 and one other) and power outlets (Sonoff S31) to be controlled from a linux system via messages to an ESP32-C3. Is ESPHome the right protocol for this. I also have been told Tasmota is appropriate but it sounds like ESP Home is the more direct path for these devices if I flash the S31. Any opinion would be helpful. I’m not new to microcontrollers but totally new to home automation.

Either will work just fine with the esp devices, I assume the s31 will be OK as well, not tried so don’t know for sure.

Esphome will involve a learning curve with the yaml config, easy when you have played around a bit. Tasmota will also involve a bit of fiddling with settings but easy enough. Both systems will talk to HA without issues.
