I am trying to get this washing machine done blueprint working. I go to dev tools, states, and find my vibration senor, click it, enter device_class: vibration (required for the blueprint) under state attributes, then click SET STATE.
Then I go to the blueprint, choose that entity for the vibration sensor, add some notification actions and click save. Then I come back a little while later and all these settings are gone and everything is back to the default.
What is going on here? It might be that I’m not setting the device class the right way and that is getting wiped out for some reason, causing the blueprint to go back to defults. But I really don’t know and have no idea how to troubleshoot this.
This is for debugging purposes only, it indeed does not last. But the solution is way simpler. open she settings of the entity and change ‘Show as’ to vibration.
I created that blue print but I no longer use a vibration sensor. im now using energy monitor for dishwasher and others and LG integration for my washer and dryer. so that blue print might be out of date.
If you haven’t already, I would suggest editing the top post of your thread there to reflect that…
A good technique for that would be to pass your message like you did above, then put the rest of the message into a drop-down using the built-in editor tools in discourse here to make them click there to see it. It forces them to read the warning.
Click the gear, then hide details, change the title from summary to something and there you go…
If you would rather, one of the mods here can edit the post with your permission and do it for you. Just trying to fend off future user problems and then maybe someone interested will see it and take over the good work you started.
