Hello
I didn’t turn on device tracker when setting up the mobile app on my cell phone. I now would like to turn it on, but I don’t see how I can do this via the app on the phone. Could someone please advise me where I should be looking?

HA APP UI >> Settings >> Companion App >> Location

Make appropriate selections

In IOS you can also just go into IOS setting >> Home Assistant >> change location settings

Thanks for the help. I’m using a Pixel phone, so for Android:

Setting > Location > App location permissions

Find the “Home Assistant” app. Mine was under “Allowed only while in use”, then select from one of four options:
Allow all the time
Allow only while using the app
Ask every time
Don’t allow.
FYI: my phone was set up for “Don’t allow”. I changed it to “Allow only while using the app” but if I install any automatons I might have to change this to “Allow all the time”.

Forced to use iphone and hate these crap keyboards along with a list of other hates!!!

for device tracking troubleshooting we have these steps for android, and yes you do indeed allow all the time for it to work properly.
