I went to SkyConnect firmware update page FIRMWARE HERE and updated automatically to the latest version 7.3.2.0 build 212. However, I noticed on THSI PAGE that there is newer version 7.4.3.0 and updated to it with custom update.
I also changed from chanel 15 default to chanel 25 on my Zigbee network and changed my router Wi-Fi to chanel 1 so they are both far away according to this article HERE
AS you can see there is nothing on the right side, as there is my Zigbee channel 25.
However, I now get more disconnected devices than before when I was on channel 15. What is the issue, is ti possible some devices might not be very well designed for other channel different than the default ZHA channel 15? Thank you.
P.S. or Does the issue comes from the newer firmware? And why when I give it automatic update it goes to 7.3.2.0 and not 7.4.3.0?
Did you verify rht everything is communicating properly after the channel change. While it’s ‘supposed’ to be automatic. I’ve found enough vendors play fast and loose with the spec enough that some devices just don’t switch and need to be rejoined…
I have manually rePaired all 80 of my devices, and I keep losing every day pretty much same devices from before. My water leak sensors and some of my contact sensor and couple of buttons. I repair them and in 1-2 days they are offline again. This was not an issue before the firmware upgrade and the channel migration from 15 to 25. The reason I migrated from 15 to 25 is a message that kept telling me channel 15 is 99% utilized so my thought was to switch to next best, but it got worst. From 0 devices offline to 6-7 devices offline every day.
Oh lord that message. Well I won’t belabor the fact that in most cases you need to ignore that unless you are seeing serious communication issues because it’s only a point in time measurement of relative businesses of the frequency. Nothing about quality… You’re already there.
Theres got to be something else there not wifi hanging out there. While it seems counterintuitive - What happens if you pull back to 20? You’re already in pain, and it won’t get worse so, why not?
I am waiting on long USB extention cable to put the coordinator far from HA over 2 meters. I hope this will help, if not, I will revert back to Chanel 15 and move my Wifi to 11, as those 2 are said to be far from each other and it was working fine on channel 11. I am wondering if the Firmware has something to do with it.
