I recently switched all zigbee devices from their respective hubs to the SLZB-06 and Zigbee2mqtt and issues started to develop immediately… every 2-3 or even 4 days, devices would stop updating status in both z2m and ha (door sensors, leak sensors, etc), while others (bulbs, blinds, plugs, etc) would have an incredible 10s delay when turning on or off! Not all of them and not everything at once… It seems to do this at random with random devices, but there is an issue every few days for sure.
What i obseved so far:
- if i press the identify button in z2m for end devices and then open-close sensor it would snap back and start reporting again sometimes
- restarting z2m works sometimes
- if the above doesn’t work, i re-pair said dvices and they would work again for a few days
- it’s not always the same devices that drop, it seems to be fairy random
- same devices worked flawlessly and without any issues with the manufacturer hub for 3 years
What i tried so far:
- pushed wifi channel far away from zigbee channel (nothing changed)
- checked for radio interference (there is practically none)
- slzb is on ethernet/poe in the middle of the house
- paired devices that were closest to coordinator fist and moved outward with the pairing
- when re-pairing devices, i tried pairing them to the closest/best router by choosing join “devicename” (same drop-outs, nothing changed)
My current setup:
- SMLight SLZB-06 with latest firmware (both zigbee and core, fixed ip)
- dell power edge r720 server running proxmox and HAOS VM on it (everything with fixed ip)
- z2m is installed as an add-on in ha
- Unifi usg4 pro, usw 24 port switch, uap ac pro for networking (wifi radio to medium power)
- 158 zigbee devices spread throughout the house (ground and 1’st floor)
- ikea bulbs, hue strips, aqara and ikea sensors
I’ve searched the internet for the past month and cannot find anything that could help me with this issue…
Something else to note is that i’ve set up an almost identical setup in a different location but with ha installed on a nuc and total devices were only 80 (but same device types regardless) and i had no dropouts, despite having more radio interference there than i have at home!
Any help would be highly appreciated!
