Different Lovelace Config per user / device

Hi,

I am sure I have read somewhere before it is possible to have a different lovelace configuration for individual user / device but googling hasn’t helped me.

I have created a new user, in this instance I have called Guest but the u/i is the same as my main admin user.

Regards,

What you want is not built into lovelace yet. You have to get a few custom cards and configure those.

you can do quite a bit with the “compact header” custom component.

… and it lives here

that’s cheating…

I was just going to let them get some practice using the forum search feature.

yeah, kind of… but in my book “let them learn something about HA” and “let them learn how to use search” are at different pages

Thanks for the sarcasm guys, I am already using it for my tablet as well as the fully kiosk app.

Was just asking if there was an easier way of going about things built into HA as “google” or “search” didn’t come up with anything…

Hopefully in a future release of HA something like I and others are asking about will be implemented?

Regards,

well, there is something in HA already (see description of this FR and the discussion) but it’s not covering all possible use cases and devs say use custom solutions available.
I personally prefer standard ones so it’s ones’ choice in the end (as we have it).

With 107 we get the possibility to have multiple Lovelace “Dashboards”, they will show as seperate sidebar entries.

Then you can load something like this to hide sidebar items.

it’s not very clear without looking closely at the code but thanks for letting us know mate!
every UI improvement that allows for a greater variety of use cases is highly appreciated.
