I have several of these “power strips”/“power distribution units”:
They are pricey if you look at them as a simple power strip but they are more like an industrial PDU in my opinion and have similar capabilities and are very cheap in that regard. They are sold by a company called “Digital Loggers” as a “Web power switch”
Home-assistant documentation says these digital loggers can be controlled using the Belkin Wemo integration but that seems to be completely wrong.
When I tried to do this both automatically and manually I get nothing. They are not discovered and when I add them manually they are not accessible in HA. HA does not even find them.
Yes I did. Make sure they are discoverable in your configuration.yaml (This may not be necessary)
wemo:
discovery: true (this is indented)
Then log into the admin panel of your switch. Click on “External APIs” on the left menu and enable all the external APIs then go into Home-assistant and add the digital-logger integration. It will instead add Belkin wemo but it works.
The documentation in Home-assistant says to only enable COAP on the digital-logger but that did not work for me. I enabled everything. I assume some of these can be disabled but I have not taken the step of figuring out which ones.
Sorry to dredge up an old thread but I just installed mine and enabled the UPnP functionality to get setup, does that have to stay on or can I turn it off once the device is configured?
