Dimmer for led cob lights in vivarium

hi all i have 2 led full spectrum lights with 80v drivers and a large led grow light with a dimmer atached for heat control (basking light) im looking for a away i could use esp home to adust the existing dimmer on the large lamp ( i assume is just changing the resitance to adjust the pwm of the light) so ill like to replace the dial with a esp 32 to give me automation also would it be posible to add dimming to the other lights with no current dimming capability

thanks in advance

I’m pretty sure you need to provide much more information to get anything else than guesses here…

what sort of info would you sugest thanks

Only thing we know about your circuit is that there is some dimmer and the lamp is large…
Specs of the dimmer, driver and lamp perhaps…

the lamps are 50w the driver is 80-100w with no dimmer option

the other is 100w witth a dimmer built in but as usual the driver ic has it detals scrubbed so i have no way to know id the pot is changing the voltage to the chip as in 1-10v to change the output to the led or if its resitive even if i new the leg being fed by the driver signal i could scope it and see whats going on but confromal coated and beeping out a multi layer board is a nightmare.

Led lights can be driven and dimmed so many ways, that i can’t predict your circuit. Could be triac dimmer on mains side or pwm on dc side or analog 0-10v on driver… Or something else…

would a picture of the one with the dimmer on be a help maybe looking at the pcb you would have some more idea i tried to probe the pot but my scope didnt like it i assume it was the frquency as it was claiming the signal was 170v i highly doubt that was that was the case

Quite surely but not only picture of the dimmer, also all labels which can give information like model number.

Its a sansi unit the mod.e number dosnt bring up anything online for me

So where’s the pot?

the red and black cable run to the pot its a standard 10k pot no middle wiper

Ok, I assume from the partial circuit image that you have the pot on the logic circuit.
I personally would substitute it with optocoupler (or photo-fet). With the info here can’t guarantee how well it works, but it’s safe to try (esp isolated from the circuit).

if i have time latertoday i will take some more images and do some probing hope full i can get more info for you. im assuming ill need to buy new drivers fr the led units that dont have a dimming function but i can read up more on that once the rest is done… All this to make my lizards happy haha
