Dimming lights with HA Assist

I have setup an m5stack echo to respond to voice commands using openwakeword. It works great for turning lights on or off, and the response time is amazing compared to Google Home. So fast!!!

But I was unable to figure out how to give a command to dim a light to a certain percentage. Using “Dim…” or “set the table lamp to 50 percent” doesn’t work. I also tried typing in the commands directly in the Assist dialog in the HA GUI, but it didn’t understand the command there either, so it’s not that it’s misunderstanding my voice commands. I tried not including “percent” as well. I tried a number of ways to phrase it, but no luck. Only turning lights on or off works for me.

Anyone know how to properly give HA Assist a command to dim lights?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @ScottCLT, please take the time to mark the answer as solution, you do that by selecting the three dots under the post:

Then select the check box:

By doing so this can be useful to other users as well and prevents that someone else steps in and still tries to help you.

Hello, Nick,

I am unable to find that option. I looked a few days ago, and gave the answer a “like,” but I don’t have the option to select that the answer was the solution. I tried on both mobile (iPhone and iPad) and through Chrome on Windows and Chrome/Firefox in Linux. It’s just not showing up for me:

I tried and tried, but no luck seeing the option you pointed out in your screen snip. I’m so sorry! I will check back tomorrow to see if you might know of why it wouldn’t be there for me (though I know it’s not your responsibility to run the forum!). I would like to be able to give credit where credit is due, though.
