Disable authentication

Hi guys. Shot question:

Is it possible to deactivate the authentication? (Loginname + Password to enter HA)

No. And likely never will be.

In fact you can almost do it using the “trusted_network” parameters from the http components.
If you are in a LAN network and put it in the trusted network, you will be able to log in without password

I have had my LAN addresses since day one in trusted_network, but since the new authentication system I have to enter userid every time, even when pushing saying savelogin. It annoys the hell out of me.

I’m having this problem now too, since I’ve configured Cloudflare Access. Even when I save the login, I seem to be prompted again every couple visits.

As much as I love this project, I would rather have Cloudflare and Google handle my authentication needs, and would like to set Home Assistant to stay out of the way.

Trusted network never worked for me.
I tried

  • 127.0.0.1
  • 192.168.1.6 (HA local IP)
  • 192.168.1.6:8123

and still not working.

try adding 192.168.1.0/24

Neat ! That worked… It still asks me to select one user and click next tho.
I hate that auth stuff ! Grrrrr

if you select save, it only asks once

Unfortunately I can’t save. My browser automatically clears all history, cache and cookies.

Did anyone find a way to pass the user in the URL for a trusted network, or even full username and password? Needed for my non-touch headless wall display.
