HA automatically set my ecobee thermostat to away mode when I am not at home, even though someone else still at home. Is it possible to disable the this function?

I don’t think this is something that HA does completely automatically, without you having created an automation for it. Perhaps you have the Ecobee app settings on your cell phone causing this? I suggest disabling the “geofence” setting in the Ecobee app on your cell phone.
