I have a light source that I control with an RF remote using Broadwell integration. Home Assistant has no way to tell the state of the light. So, if I turn off the light in HA, then turn it on manually with the remote, when I then tell Home Assistant to turn off all lights in the Area in which this light is, it does not turn it off, because it thinks it is still on.
So, is there a way to disable assumed states for a light in Home Assistant? I don’t need HA to report the state at all, just send the on/off commands when I tell it to. There are surprisingly few topics I can find on this issue. The docs say things like “Home automation will have to approach such devices based on the assumption that it’s commands are received correctly: using optimistic updates”, as if having an unknown state is not an option at all.
Is it not?
