I’ve been beating my head against a wall with this one, so I figured I’d reach out for thoughts and suggestions. I have a tablet in my foyer (Lenovo Tab M10 Plus G3, if it matters) running Fully Kiosk Browser. It is a custom:grid-layout, 3 columns. The Center column is a vertical stack card. The issue I’m having is with my custom made alarm status card (custom button card with various conditional cards inside, outlined in red in the image). This card just… disappears from the dashboard. I can’t tell you exactly how long it takes to disappear as, obviously, I can’t sit around and watch it. My first attempted “band-aid”, which initially seemed to work, is I have Fully Kiosk restart every morning at 3am. I went a few weeks before I saw it happening again. I put the Restart Browser button on the dashboard to allow my family to do it if they saw it. Then, I noticed, not only was it happening again, but it survives a restart of the browser. When the browser comes back up, the alarm card is still missing. The only way I can get the card back is to load another dashboard, and the reload my default dashboard, thus the “Restart Dashboard” button. In a low-tech solution, it simply loads a dashboard with a large button on it that says “Restart Dashboard” which then loads my default dashboard back again.
I’ve googled, and searched the community and haven’t been able to find anything similar. I’ve got Browser Mod installed as well, and I’m not seeing any memory spikes in the tablet (to indicate a memory leak).
I’m at my wits end. It’s easy enough to work around, but I feel like I shouldn’t have to. I’m running on a Pi5 (8GB) with an SSD, and I’m not seeing any memory issues there, nor do I ever see CPU usage out of the teens (FWIW). No other card (many of which are also custom button cards with one or more conditionals in them) behaves this way. This happens with the HA Companion, Chrome, of Fully Kiosk, so it’s not a browser issue. I currently have an automation that has FK load another dashboard, wait 10 secs, then reload the default dashboard every 3 hours. I came down this morning, just over an hour after it ran, and the card was missing. Any thoughts or even WAGs are welcomed because I don’t know where else to look. I’m fully up to date on my updates. While I haven’t seen it “disappear”, I have had the card fail to appear when I login from another site and open the tablet dashboard, although admittedly not very often. I appreciate any and all ideas.
