Discovery across separate network subnets

First, new to the forum here and apologize if the question has been asked.

My configuration:

  • Running Synology DS3617xs
  • Docker installed from package center
    — homeassistant/home-assitant:latest image

Everything is working perfectly.

Have two sites connected via OpenVPN site-to-site.
I’m having a challenge to broadcast across the VPN.
HA running and discovered a Wink in Hub Site(1)
Like to install a second Wink Hub in Site(2) and have it managed with HA in site 1.

Is there a way to have HA connect to a Wink Hub on another network subnet by pointing HA to the IP address of the Wink hub? Other words, can we tell HA to point to a Hub by IP address instead of autodiscovery?

I understand there is an HA master/slave setup which I could do but that requires an additional server and the HA guides are not simple to understand when installing master/save.

If you have connectivity between the sites, and can ping the devices, you can point to the IP address of what you want. Discovery will not work without some effort, but you can point to the individual IP addresses across subnets

This is great to know.
Would there be an example which can be provided?

Looking more into it, it doesn’t look like local wink is really supported. Not sure if you can run 2 of them on the same HASS.

You can run a pi3 at the remote site, and use the eventstream to send to your main Hass install. This does not require another server. Just a home assistant install on a pi3
