I am using a vpi4-64, core 2022.7.3, Home Assistant OS 8.2, Supervisor 2022.07.0. When I plug a USB speaker/micophone into the Pi USB port it is not discovered. According to documention the USB Discovery integration will detect newly connected USB devices.
Do you have default_config: or usb: in your configuration.yaml?
Do you mean not discovered by HA, or not discovered by the OS?
As far as HA, I don’t think any integration will do anything with “dumb” speakers.
Bottom-line: What are your expectations, precisely?
Yes, I am using the default config and I also put usb: in the config file and restarted. I wanted a USB mic/speaker device added in order to try Almond. Thanks for your response.
