Hello, everyone. Relative newbie on Hass.io. Been having some fun (and some frustrations) with this but so far it’s been working great. Anyway, is there any way for Home Assistant to control a Dish Network Hopper? I haven’t been able to find anything that says it can. Just seems to me that with all of the other equipment that can integrate with HA then Dish Hopper should have been done already.
I’d love to see a Dish Network Hopper integration. There is apparently an API with quite a lot of features/controls/attributes called Dish 2nd Screen (https://www.dish.com/develop-for-hopper/). I don’t have the first idea of how to program/code, but this would be an awesome integration. I understand that Dish is not available to HA users in all countries, but there are a lot of users who could get benefit of it.
I guess I’ll give this thread some life. Anyone figure out how to get the DISH Hopper integrated into Home Assistant? It’d be nice to have some controls.
My 508 was replaced with a Hopper 2. Found on reddit that the Hopper 2 has ir capability that isn’t in the hopper 3. I had to turn it on in the remote settings. I got out my old 5.4 IR control I kept and fired it up. I’ve tested pause and skip. Now I can train my Broadlink IR blaster.
Edit:
Trained the IR blaster with a 5.4 IR remote (dish 508), not controlling the hopper but the 5.4 IR is.
