I use an input_number sensor to track my daily HVAC runtime. I’d like it to display just like the current hour runtime above it (without box or slider). Is this possible?

Why not create real template sensor that will hold input number_value as its state? A bit of additional complexity (adding entity), but will solve yur problem.
