I don’t know if this would even be possible but here it goes. I would like to have a way to have Musixmatch display lyrics in Home Assistant while playing music through Spotify.
I use Tidal, but there is a great HACS Custom Component I have just installed this evening. Here https://github.com/robert-alfaro/genius-lyrics. As it works with the Home Assistant Media player, I should think would work perfectly with Spotify (but haven’t tried).
Displays really nicely in a Markdown Card!
I usually struggle for hours / days if I’m messing around with integrations to apps that need authentication - but this was an absolute breeze.
I can confirm it works with Youtube Music and Plex!
synced lyrics in ha would be a absolute game change, i really wish this dream will come true some day.
+1, synced lyrics like Musixmatch in HA would be so cool. I looked far and wide to see if there was anything, but couldn’t find anything. I guess I’ll have to stick to Genius lyrics for now.
I also tried automating the Musixmatch app on my tablet via HA, but that didn’t work either till now.
we are not the only ones that want a synced lyrics integration for home assistant and we are closer now then ever to get it, because the feature request for synced lyrics in music assistant is in the top 10 of not integrated features.
please vote this request up as much as possible to get our dream come to life
I just wanted to quickly share that I am working on a project that allows you to embed an iFrame in HA dashboard that shows the synced lyrics.
It’s currently on Windows, but I will be working on improving it and perhaps try to make it native to HA. Once it’s more stable, I will share all the details and write a guide on this.
Am using it for personal use for the past month and it’s working well
This is awesome! Would be so great to have built into HA. Would then be able to have it cast the song lyrics to the TV when music is playing. I am probably going to spin up a Windows VM for it but an integration would definitely be ideal. Thanks for all the work you’ve put in!
