Displaying png file from external ftp server

I am trying the following configuration:

• platform: generic
  still_image_url: ftp://ftp.knmi.nl/pub_weerberichten/KNMI_weer_en_klimaatpluim_Schiphol_temperatuur.png
  content_type: “image/png”
  name: Schiphol temperatuur

It is not diplaying the png file. Can you work with a ftp site like this or only with http(s)?

not sure about the standard HA, but I know that with the newer lovelace-ui you can only use https urls for the iframe if you use https for HA.
I would not be surprised if the same or similar applied to HA.
Have you tried the downloader component to get a local copy of the file?

Works very good. Downloading from ftp site with wget and uploading with curl on a separate vm with shell script and crontab.
