Always a bit confused by this one. If I’ve modified my config file to create a new timer, and I’ve made a couple of automations using that timer, I can verify my config file and it “passes” and I can reload automations - but in my entity viewer the new timer doesn’t show up so I’m nervous to presume I DON’T need to restart HASS? Any tips on whether I do? Would have thought reload automations should fail…?
if you’ve added anything new, yes. If you’ve just fixed an automation, no.

So if I just added, for example, a condition to an existing automation, there’s no need to restart?
Just reload automations
the things you can reload without needing to restart are listed in the dev panel>configuration>general>configuration reloading. “reload core” is a little misleading/vague. it means that if you make a change to your customization section you can click that to reload the new customizations.
Anything changed that’s not listed there you need to restart HA.
