Hi all, I have a Zen 72 that showed up dead on arrival. Zooz was great about replacing it after I jumped through their troubleshooting process
I took it apart to see what was wrong with it and found some smoke staining near one of the solder points between the main board and secondary board.
I’m thinking the soldering wasn’t up to par for the current and failed when it first got powered up, or maybe at the factory. It never turned on for me.
For those of you with more experience than I, where would you start with trying to test/fix this? Could it just be an solder mistake?
Any idea what the small component nearest to burned contact is? I can’t tell if it’s damaged. The second theory is that something with that failed first.
