Docker Container Available - How can I use this?

I’d love to use the following GitHub project that is a docker container that publishes data over mqtt:

I’m running my HA instance as a VM inside of Ubuntu, so I normally use the Add-Ons to get things like this running for me. I tried to add this as an Add-On repository and HA told me it wasn’t valid, so I assume that means I need to setup Docker on my Ubuntu instance. I don’t have any experience with Docker, so I’m a bit uncomfortable having to do this outside of my HA instance.

What’s required to make this into an add-on? Thanks!

I finally have a working add-on for this if you would like to try it out, so let me know.

Sorry for the delay, but I’d love to test this out!

Is the add-on functioning? I would like to test it if so.

It works great for me and @hoyt has been using it as well. He hasn’t complained thus far, so I assume it works well.

I will go ahead and open up my repo to everyone later today and will share here when done.

Here it is: GitHub - BigThunderSR/homeassistant-addons-onstar2mqtt: OnStarJS wrapper for MQTT as a Home Assistant Add-on

You guys think the onstar subscription worth it on a 2011 Acadia?
Otherwise, this container is not useful to me if it’s not worth it

I doubt it… Most of the benefit I get from this add-on is data about my EV (charging status, battery %, etc). I don’t pay for that via onstar, and I doubt I would if they made me pay a monthly fee. I don’t think I’d want onstar for my gas car to see anything about it in HA.
