Does api.ai require constant redeployment?

Hey guys, quick question. I started playing with api.ai today and got it set up and working just fine. I noticed if I don’t use it from the Google Home for a while it forgets that the chat bot even exists. Every hour or so I have to log back into api.ai and then redeploy the bot using the integrations page on the site, then my google home finds it again. I tried with my Pixel as well and same thing. Anyone else have this problem?

Which integration are we talking about here? The Google Actions one? I did notice a slight delay in my telegram bot after not speaking to it for about an hour. Maybe it has to do with their way of handling idleing. Could be they kill your proccess after 1 hour idle. Maybe try their support.

~Cheers

It was my understanding (unless this has changed) that unlike Alexa, private skills have a ‘shelf life’ in api.ai unless they are publicly deployed. With Alexa skills, you can keep a skill in private ‘test mode’ indefinitely.

See this thread. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/41088596/make-google-actions-development-project-preview-persist-longer

Someone has figured out how to preview a Google Action indefinitely.

Nice! Let’s hope Google doesn’t close this hole…
