I need five Zigbee sticks to use for motion sensors in places where my current setup doesn’t reach, but it’s covered by the wifi in a Pi (which I have laying around). The Conbee II is working good, but five of those would be rather expensive. I see that Aliexpress has some that costs about 1/5 of the Conbee II. Anybody here with experience with one of those that actually works as it should? I’m planning to use Aquara motion sensors, the battery last long and they are basically problem free when solder modded to immideate detection and release.
If you are talking about the ZB-GW04, there are decent as router, but crappy as coordinator.
Thanks for answering! I was looking at this one.
I need to google what router and coordinator means. But if it is enough to say if they work, there will be only a few devices (I think 2-3 motion sensors) connected to each stick.
Edit: probably 6 motion sensors on one of them.
Edit 2: Oh, right. I use Zigbee2MQTT on Docker, if that matters.
That is a ZB-GW04, s seen here
If the motion sensors are not to far away, it will probably work if it are only 6.
Brilliant, thanks a lot! And no, they will all be within 15 meters. That’s not far, is it?
