I have 75 Insteon devices with numerous keypads and Insteon scenes defined. Everything works great. All physical devices stay in sync. Insteon Director worked fine. I moved everything over to HA a while ago and not so fine anymore. My HA dashboards on a daily basis are not in sync with reality. HA will show lights are on when they are off.
I was using a 2422 hub and then took the very painful leap to reconfigure everything to a 2143 USB PLM. I ensured all the default links were there. Recreated all my scenes. Etc. Still no real difference. HA is randomly out of sync with various devices by the end of each day.
All of my other non Insteon devices in HA work great.
Anybody have similar problems? Or conversely does any have a fairly large Insteon network that works 100% of the time with HA? What’s your secret?
I’m using Insteon USB Modem Interface (PLM) 2413U, along with Insteon MQTT HA add-on. The modem is quite dated, but all has worked very solidly for quite awhile. Getting it set-up initially was a challenging learning experience, but worth it.
I just started with HA about a year ago, mainly to get my Unifi Protect camera events to turn on Insteon switches that are managed by my UDI Polisy. I also replaced my Homebridge with HA to get my Insteon devices and scenes into HomeKit and Scrypted is getting the Unifi Protect cameras into HKSV. That part works great. Now I would like to do HA to Insteon directly via PLM connected to my HAOS. Seems to be much more complicated and while I keep learning what HA can do, it seems to be much easier to control the Insteon network with IoX and let HA do everything else.
