I usually reset my Nests to start learning again when changing to/from heating/cooling. Does anyone know if you have to use the thermostat or the Nest app so it learns?
I hardly ever touch the thermostat, yet I see after a while that Nest has learnt m usage, so I believe (until proven wrong) that it also learns from HA interactions
I don’t use the learning feature of my Nest thermostat. I found it much easier, quicker and more accurate, just to set programs. However, I would be very surprised if you had to make it relearn every time you switched modes. Each mode has its own schedule, with its own learned set points, so you shouldn’t have to do that. I’m also not surprised that it uses temperature adjustments, no matter where they come from.
