Does SimpliSafe integration get sensor events even when disarmed?

Looking to buy a security system that integrates well with HA. Specifically looking for something where I can use the sensors to run other automations - like turning on lights etc. Can I use SimpliSafe contact and motion sensors for this? The integration does say it has support to get the state of a sensor, but wondering if it works only if the system is armed, or would it work always.

@bachya Please let me know your thoughts.

The integration returns the state of all sensors; however, because the reverse-engineered integration is a polling integration, the state updates once every 60 seconds. If that’s sufficient for your needs, you should be good.

@bachya Thank you for the response. Is this 60 seconds a mandatory minimum? Or is there a way I can reduce it? I was going through the simplipy code, but could not figure out how to reduce it.

There is currently no way to reduce it from Home Assistant. I choice that number because below it, the SimpliSafe API (which, again, is unpublished) seems to error out more (I assume from the base station attempting to synchronize at the same time).

Got it. Thank you so much for your response
