The p is better for Zigbee2MQTT. The e has always been fine for ZHA.

I wanted the e incase of matter but the p is better for say Aqara?

In theory it shouldn’t matter at all.

However, some devices do behave better with particular coordinators. You’re probably better off with the E, as long as you’re not using Zigbee2MQTT.
