Hi,
I use Home Assistant for a year now and everything works great. I configured my overview dashboard with ui-lovelace.yaml. Now I want to add a tablet in the kitchen to control my home from there. I want to have a different UI than the one I use on my phone and desktop. I think that a custom dashboard could be a good way to go. I plan to configure a custom dashboard “lovelace-tablet” with only the essential automation options. I want to set the tablet dashboard as default for the app on the tablet but also want to be able to use the default dashboard as a fallback for advanced configuration. As documented setting the default hides the overview dashboard.
My current workaround is by adding a second dashboard “lovelace-default” that also uses ui-lovelace.yml. That way I still have the overview dashboard in the sidebar when I switch my default to lovelace-tablet but on the devices that don’t set their default that means a duplicate entry in the sidebar.
Is there a option to not hide the overview dashboard from the sidebar when setting a default?
kind regards
Clemens
