Doorbird RFID Reader

Hi all,

I have a Doorbird and its successfully installed in HomeAssistant. Works well so far. The only thing which is not working is the RFID reader which switches the internal relay.
My thought was that if the RFID tag is triggering the internal relay HA is able to recognize that and triggering an automation which opens my door.

This is possible but only within HA. Means when I trigger the relay switch from the Doorbird Component it does what it should, but when I use the RFID Tag directly on the Doorbird nothing happens.

Anyone an idea why this is the case?

My doorbird triggers the relay automatic for each rfid chip i added to the system. There was no manual action needed. Check if the weekplan for your rfid-chip is enabled for relay1.

The actual doorbird component does not support events from the rfid reader but the maintainer is working on a very promising solution.

Yes the relay gets triggered but as you mentioned this is not submitting into HA.

Also greetings from Germany

What model are you using?

Hi

The 2101. It works when its connected to my KNX binary sensor which then triggers the KNX Switch for the door. But it seems the sensor is having an Issue so I disconnected it. The Plan was to “IOT” the process via HA

I am using the version with three buttons. The doorbird component now supports only these events:

        - doorbell
        - motion
        - relay

So no rfid event is pushed to HA but oblogic7 is working on a optimized version which will support multiple buttons and multiple rfid-chips.

With the new version you will be able to define events to push to HA, but you have to manually configure them once in the app. E.g. you can trigger the “imperial march from star wars” on your rfid

I think I wasn’t clear. Sorry for that.

The RFID Chip is triggering the relay. But: When this Relay is triggered, outside HA with the Tag or the Doorbird App, nothing happens in HA.
If I trigger the relay in HA directly everything is fine.

I think there is no way to tell HA that a relay was triggered.

The communication between doorbird and HA is done via schedules that call a http-urls.
I don’t know if you can attach a schedule to the relay.

Thats a Bummer…

But thanks a lot!

There is a solution , I have it working hit me up on discord. adonno#8391

Will do later
