My zwave appears to have failed completely after installing a firmware update last night.

More info-
Google search suggests HA restart or moving the dongle to another USB port. I have tried rebooting several times but I’m at work right now so don’t have physical access to try a different USB port. Reboot didn’t fix the issue.
HAOS is running on a barebones NUC 11 if that matters.

unplug/replug usb may also work
sometimes the controller is showing in system as “in use” by the old process that existed before the update. A reboot or unplugging USB might take care of that.
Also verify you dont have both zwavejs and zwavejsui installed. Often people install both and after an update the other starts preventing operation. You should verify.
I’ll unplug/plug/power cycle when I get home this evening. Saw the same suggestions repeated in quite a few threads.
I only have the zwavejs ui integration installed but both addons are installed and running. Is that a problem?
That’s a contradiction. Yes. also sounds like a problem
zwavejsui OR zwavejs. Not Both.
Disable zwavejs. reconfigure zwavejsui. try again
once you get zwavejsui working, remove zwavejs.
Ok. I installed the zwave addon.
Now I just have the zwave js ui addon-
And the zwave js integration-
Didn’t make any difference with the driver not loading though as you can see in the screenshot above.

You need to point it at your zwave stick.
This is not zwavejs integration. it is the zwave integration. You use this to tell HA where to find a zwave hub. In your case, you tell it where to find the server(addon) running zwavejsui or zwavejs with your controller.

post the IP/hostname you connected to
ADDON
did you set it up?
if you did and it worked the integration would likely connect without issue
If you did Not or there was a problem, addon will give you an error and integration will not connect(what you currently have)
It’s listed in Settings>Integrations.
To be clear, this addon was already installed and working prior to the current issue.
Yes. Zwave integration not zwavejs.
Doesnt matter just not trying to create confusion
ZwavejsUI has a UI
Setup is in the UI
Check the side tab in HA’s UI
Even if previously working, Solution is likely same
- verify not running both addon
- verify controller connected to addon
- verify IP/host setting in integration is correct
- Reboot if still not working after verify

Looks like unplugging/replugging the controller has fixed this. I actually unplugged, completely powered down the host, booted and then replugged the controller. All the zwave devices are now working.
Huge thanks for your assistance and advice about the multiple addons.
It’s common that people install both addons, get one working, and randomly have zwave down after update or reboot when other addon decides to take over.
