Dumb Broadlink RM3 mini question

If I have the RM3 set up & working with the RM app, it’s learned all the commands, do I still need to get Home Assistant to learn them all?

Yes.
As far as I know you can’t export the codes (at least that was the case before).

But I remember I could fire the code from the app while using HA to listen for it on the same device.
That was completely mind blowing for me.

That’s good because who knows where the remotes are at the moment

Can I list the commands it knows?

Hi @Stubbs

As far as I know, you cannot extract the learnt codes from the device, you have to learn the device the codes through HA instead of through the app.
This way the codes are stored in HA under /configuration/.storage/ in a JSON file called broadlink_remote_MACADDRESS_codes

Then you can use these to make switches that fires the right commands when needed.

It is well documented here: Broadlink - Home Assistant (home-assistant.io)

Let me know if you still have challenges and I will try to help you through:slight_smile: ,
