When you’re just starting out with HA having all dashboards get created with the auto-generator as the default is fine, but once you reach a threshold of devices (and it’s going to be different for everyone) that starts to become a major problem when trying to add more dashboards or configuration.
It would be really nice if when you go to manage Lovelace dashboards that during the creation time you have an option to “take control”, that is, start from a blank slate. from the very start of the dashboard creation.
In my personal setup, I have somewhere between 150 - 300 entities and when I’m working creating new dashboards I’m constantly having to wait for minutes before the auto-generated dashboard has loaded enough for me to then take control of it and wipe it down to a blank starting state!
