Hi,
I have a home battery which can be charged and discharged within a hour and which is calculated to be costing 4 cents per kWh on depreciation and other costs. In combination with a dynamic hourly energy rate pulled in by Nordpool I would like to have an automation that decides to buy, sell or do nothing. Keeping in mind the four cents and looking for the maximum in profitability. How to build a template or calculation that decides if the future prices are high enough to make profit with the current hourly rate, or if there is a better deal in the future. Same for selling, is it now the best moment to sell or do I wait another hour. And only looking at known prices, not predicting the future (yet) ![]()
When the rates of the day are having a simple pattern I could do the template, but when it gets way too complicated for me is when the rates of the day go up and down multiple times. Anybody any suggestion on how to do this? Preferably I would like to have at a certain point of the day the calculations are being done for the next 24 hours. Otherwise if not possible and needs to be done in an hourly calculation also fine.
