Easiest, most realiable 1Wire / DS18B20 temp sensor -> HA through Zigbee / Wifi?

I’ve been using two Shelly Plus UNI Gen 3 kits with DS18B20 sensors for temperature monitoring in my home. The previous owners of my house had installed DS18B20 sensors with inconsistent wiring colors, which complicated setup. While initial setup of the Shellys could not have been more smooth my needing to dis- and reconnect to different sensors, different wirings seems to have messed both boards up. So since both of these are seemingly fried I’m now looking for a simpler, more reliable solution.

My wishlist:

  • A Wi-Fi or Zigbee-based solution for temperature monitoring.
  • Something that doesn’t require soldering or significant technical setup.
  • Ideally, a system that’s robust enough to handle power interruptions or miswiring without easily breaking.

If anyone has experience with a reliable and easy-to-use alternative, I’d love to hear your recommendations!

I’m not sure I understand the question. Amazon is full of WiFi and Zigbee temperature sensors. I’ve got a bunch of Zigbee sensors sporting several different brand labels, including Third Reality, Maxcio, CentraLite, and Visonic. Never had a problem. Pair them with ZHA and they just work.

I also run some ESP8266 boards which use Dallas one-wire temperature sensors. No soldering, I just bought a terminal board to plug the ESP board into. Connect the wires to the screw terminals and plug in a USB power supply.
