Right now I have to manually move the map all over, and it is really tedious when creating zones.
I live in an area that is very widespread, things are not clustered together like they are in a big city.
Is there any way to type in an address into a map, and have it find it, when setting up a zone?
Zone creation popup has lat/long coordinate fields. Type the address into Google Maps & you can grab the coordinates from there.
Not sure if it’s known but in the zone dialog you can click the map to place the zone, so I don’t think it’s that painful to add.
Generally I think reverse-geolocation (address to coordinates) is not generally a free service, we don’t offer it because we would have to pay a commercial service that provides that data. We have very limited support in onboarding but I think we didn’t want to expand further than that.
You can also create a zone from a persons current position.
How do you view their current position?
Open the person entity. If you have a device tracker linked (phone app) then the position is shown.
