I have a couple of Utility Meters to see the usage of appliances. But Why is it sooo difficult to let them show the energy costs per day, and to reset them to zero? You need templates, helpers, automations, but why can’t i simply select the utility meter, add the day/night tariff and select some options to see the daily costs, weekly and monthly costs? And sometimes i switch a utility meter to another appliance, but i really don’t know how i can reset this meter to zero easy.
Is here a easy solution for? Or do we all need to be professors to achieve this (LOL).
Oh my god, I could have written this one. I know exactly what you mean. Been thinking and trying for a couple of days now and I cannot get my head around it. This is frustrating indeed, and to be honest really weird why there is no good examples on how to do this. It’s a shame I don’t have the option to vote for this 100 times. Did you achieve this anyhow regardless of the complexity?
No, I still do all my automations for HUE/Sonos and other appliances in the app of the developers. So HUE automations still on the HUE bridges, Sonos I use the app Soro (iPhone) for.
I know the options for Home Assistant seems unlimited, but it’s still for the people who knows coding or who have lots of spare time to get to know HA to the bottom. I also still use my HomeWizard device (I thought only sold in the Netherlands), where you can make automations very very easy/simple.
I have one automation at Home Assistant (using a blueprint) where I get a notification when the washing machine and dryer is finished
