Easy way to update IP address of devices so you don't have to install them again

Due to a network change that caused all IP addresses of my devices to change, I noticed that Home Assistant has no way of manually updating the configuration of devices. Now I had to remove the old integration and make a new one.
Due to this I had to update several automations and also lost historical data of my energy.

Use static ips?

That is possible already, but most integrations do not implement it. Neverthelesss it is nit a feature request, as it is already a feature.

I do. But lately I was forced to change the subnet due to new network equipment and splitting my network into vlan’s. And shortly after due to a new ISP to solve subnet conflicts with the modem provided by the ISP.

Dhcp and mdns/dns were invented for this.
