Eaton Receptacle Energy Monitoring RFTR9605-TAW

I have these Eaton Z-Wave receptacle/outlets (RFTR9605) that do not have energy monitoring capabilities. Is there any way to add energy monitoring to these outlets what do I just need to put a smart plug in front of it?

That feature requires hardware, so if it don’t got it, it don’t got it.
